Today it was my great privilege to dedicate my 4 mile ruck with 50lbs to fellow Tomahawk: SPC. Daniel G. Dolan 29 Sept 1986 – 27 Aug 2006 Dolan of Roy, Utah died on 27 August 2006 during combat operations in Baghdad, Iraq, when his M1126 Stryker Vehicle came in contact with enemy forces using an improvised explosive device and small arms fire. He was assigned to the 3rd Platoon, Comanche Company, 1st Battalion 23rd Infantry Regiment 3rd Brigade 2nd Infantry Division. Stryker Brigade Combat Team, Tomahawks, stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington. Shortly after graduating from Roy High in May 2005, Dolan enlisted in the Army where he was assigned to the 1-23 IN Battalion. SPC. Dolan was deployed to Iraq during the surge on 28 June 2006. He was awarded the Bronze Star, Purple Heart, Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, and the Army Combat Infantry Badge.
