Today many people are taking part in the Terry Fox Run to raise money for cancer research. To those of you that are participating or have participated in the past, thank you. Its because of people like you that cancer treatments have come so far. Many of you know, but some of you dont, that almost 20 years ago (1996) my brother Gary was diagnosed with the same form of cancer as Terry Fox: osteosarcoma. And like Terry Fox, it eventually claimed his life. But today the cure rate is up to 80%! The fight to conquer cancer is far from over, but its so encouraging to see that progress is being made. One day the success rates will be 100%. Until then, keep running, walking, riding, and donating.
