Today marked the first induction ceremony of the Mu Alpha Theta Chapter of the Mathematics Honor Society at MMI. The Society was established by seniors Kristen Purcell and Alexis Williams. Kirsten Young ’13, a freshman biology major at Bucknell University, was the guest speaker for the event. Mr. Gerry Pierotti is the Honor Society advisor. The students from the senior class that were inducted include: Alec Andes, Jeffrey Bridges, Jeffrey Careyva, Patrick Driscoll, Sarah Jamack, Roger Knittle, RJ Kupsho, Kristen Purcell, and Alexis Williams. From the junior class Tristan Gibbons, Annika Fisk, Emily Seratch, Claire Sheen, and CJ Snyder were inducted. There were also three students absent at the Math Honor Induction. Juniors Chiara DeMelfi, Hayden Francis, and Emily Morrison were not able to attend but are also members of the new society!Congratulations!
