Today marks 8 years since Ewen has been diagnosed with a brain tumor, I still remember that day and could probably walk thru it step by step. He has been thru more in the past 8 years than most people will in a life time and continues to amaze me every day that he wakes up with a smile, He is such a loving caring little boy and so proud of him every day I try not to think about what led up to his dx or the fact that he could have been diagnosed months early but its hard sometimes, I want to thank SO many people who have been on this journey with us, I dont even know where to start, I guess would be first CS Motts Childrens Hospital for taking such good care of him, over the years we have had our ups and downs but I truly believe that we are in the best place, all of the support we have had-my mom and dad Jackie Parsons, sisters, Tracy Wood, Colleen Pauken, Janelle Brown, Katie King McMichael, In-laws Russ and Barb McMichael, Kim and Hope for being family for us. The entire Mountie Nation-Northwest Community Schools I could not even begin to thank everyone there for supporting not only Ewen but all 4 kids thru the years, thank you will never be enough Jeff Cram and the entire Camp Quality team, Catherine Smith being Ewens companion, and Patrick Smith who Ewen has come to adore. Our AWESOME nurse Susie, friends along the way Linda Cummings, Jodie Norris Steiner, Susan Hollister Petit, Louise Foley Smith-you have the most wonderful kids! Angels of Hope and The Jenna Kast foundation for helping this past year And finally my closest family-Paul McMichael, Layla Mcmichael and Raelin Mcmichael love you all I could go on and on but our journey is far from over and not really sure where this road will lead us but thankful we have a lot of people on our side. I love you to the moon and back Ewen and we are all in this together. Ewen has come to love the song by Twisted Sister-Were not gonna take it probably not used in this context, but some of the words are quite fitting
