Today marks 8 years since I lost my brother Collis Bill....not a day goes by that I dont think about him and miss him terribly! BUT today through my tears today and everyday I am going to SMILE knowing that the minute Collis closed his Earthly eyes and reopened them he was face to face with our God and for that I am rejoicing. I was there when Collis accepted Jesus as his savior and because of what Jesus did for us on Calvary I am promised that Collis is with him. I thank God for his love and protection...he knows my pain and when that pain is so unbearable he gives me promise that all will be ok...whether it be through my kids when they do something that makes me catch my breath and think Wow they looked or sounded just like Collis! or a song on the radio or the smell of pine trees becomes so strong, or a text message from a friend to just tell me she loves me and is thankful for me..Brandi Leach I dont think you realize how much that text meant to me this morning! Was having a rough start...so thank you for just being you!!! Collis and I shared a special bond that can never be replaced and I thank God for the 21 years that he allowed for us to create that bond. Collis brought many friends into our life that have now become like family and for that I will smile and am thankful. The pain is still there and I dont believe it will ever go away but when the pain feels like it will take over I will focus on the memories and all the wonderful times we had, I will remember dancing with him, laughing with him, fighting with him and just sharing life with him...We all know Collis was the life of any party/gathering he was at and for that I smile and remember his beautiful face. Make beautiful memories each day with the ones you love...dont waste it on fighting because you never know when that moment may be your last! RIP Collis Bill Everitt!!!
