Today marks Day 80 of my alignment by compulsion. While this erector set, bolted into my head, is not convenient, it serves as a constant reminder of countless blessings that have been manifested through this journey we call life. There is a high probability that I could be detached from this contraption in twelve, never ending days (but no guarantees.) The box wrench, taped to the right rod of my halo serves as a constant reminder to me that this will come off. I could write volumes on things and relationships for which Im grateful, so let me keep this short by naming just a few. Im grateful for that throughout my life, Ive owned and ridden many good horses. Im grateful for my wife, best friend and current chauffeur, Janice Adams Lowe. She has been at my side almost constantly through the past 80 days and gives no indication of abandoning me. And last, but not least, every boy and man is entitled to a good dog. I had a boyhood companion named Buddy and now we have a dog named Scout. Scout proves her loyalty by vigilantly shadowing Janice through every room of our home. I pity the fool whoever tries to rough Janice up when Scout is around. There is much more for which I could express appreciation, but Ill save it for my private reflection between me and the God who has made it all possible. He is the one to whom I owe thanks to for every blessing and relationship throughout this life. Count yourself among those thanks.
