Today marks a massive change in my life, business and Jiu Jitsu. Today I leave a team that has given me so much. I first put on a gi at Alliance HQ and years later was honored by receiving my Black Belt from a living legend, Jacare. As a part of Alliance, Ive had the honor of training under the some of the best coaches in the world - Jacare, Cobrinha and Lucas Lepri. Im grateful for everything I learned and the experience I was given. At this time in my life however, I feel its the best thing for my family, my business and my team to leave the Alliance Association. There will be much that I miss but, its time for me to go. What happens next was in no way designed to be disrespectful or in anyway an attack on Jacare or anyone thats part of the Alliance team. For me Jiu Jitsu is about growing and developing both as an artist but also as a person. Its important to be a part of team that has leadership that I can connect with a personal level. I want to be around people that make me better whether I like it or not. And after much consideration, that coach is Roberto Traven Bjj and that team is TRT!! Again, Alliance was a huge part of my life for many years and Im grateful for the experience and all the people I met while there. Its just time for me to move on.
