Today marks six years since you were abruptly taken away from us. Although six years have passed I still carry around the same guilt and grief. Guilt of not trying harder to save you from yourself. And the grief of never hearing your voice, seeing your smile, and watching you hug our children. I know you watch over us and I see you in every smile on Alyssa Rayburn and Nicks face. You left us way to soon. Im sorry you spent your last moments with someone who never loved you. Youd be so proud of our kids. Theyre awesome. Although our time together was long over when you passed we shared a bond that we shared with no one else. We grew up together and learned together and Id like to say we were friends when you passed. I can only hope you knew what was in my heart. I hope you have peace. That your soul is at peace. Because thats the one thing you never had here in the physical world. We love you. We miss you.
