Today marks the 100-year anniversary of the beginning of WWI --also known as The Great War and the War to End All Wars. Over 9 million combatants would die, and the face of Europe changed forever. When the US joined the conflict in 1917, it catapulted the USA into a global power. I know this doesnt rank up there with what youre having for dinner, but I thought it might be nice to pause for a second or two and remember those who fought and died. The image that resonates with me is the sight of the Scottish troops in their kilts and glengarries following the regimental pipers into battle on the Western Front.
