Today marks the 100th anniversary of the day Martha, the last living passenger pigeon, died. There is a national effort to call attention to this extinction. Passenger Pigeons was painted by John James Audubon in Pittsburgh in 1824. It is part of the University of Pittsburghs Library Systems collection.
