Today marks the 200th anniversary of The Star-Spangled Banner. I dont know about you - but no matter who sings this song or where - it still impacts me. It was written by a 35-year-old lawyer and poet, Francis Scott Key, after witnessing the bombardment of Fort McHenry by British ships of the Royal Navy in the Chesapeake Bay during the Battle of Fort McHenry in the War of 1812.
