Today marks the 60th anniversary of one of the high points in the history of the Civil Rights movement in America: The Supreme Courts decision in Brown v. the Board of Education. Unfortunately, in recent years the struggle has been creeping (and even more recently, galloping) in the wrong direction. As Malcolm X once put it, “You don’t stick a knife in a man’s back nine inches, and then pull it out six inches and say you’re making progress.”
