Today, my familys last surviving grandparent past away in 1961. It was 10 days before I was born. Oddly enough, when she was quite ill, she told my dad that she saw his baby girl (remember I wasnt born yet). My dad wanted me to be named, Sadie, but mom gave me Regina instead! I had a talk with my dad when I was pregnant with my 4th child, and told him if I had a girl, Id name her after his mom, whom I had never met, but always wished I had. I was blessed on April 23, 1988 with my daughter SarahBeth (Sadie is a derivative of Sarah). And then, when we got our adorable puppy, there was no other name that she could be named but Sadie! A few weeks ago, my SIL, had her sister do an historical background of my mothers side. While reading the report, I found out that my maternal grandmothers middle name was Mae! We unknowingly had named our canine daughter, Sadie Mae! So, both of the female babies in the family are named after my grandmothers. Although, I feel like I really missed out, never having a grandparent, I think its rather awesome that their namesakes live on in two females that I adore! :) The end! LOL!
