Today my son participated in his first Christmas play. I sat there and laughed genuinely from my heart. I clapped, cheered and sung along lovingly. Looking back 4 years ago this seemed so far from my reach. I was subjected to all kinds of scrutiny and vicious attacks about childbirth and my career. I am addicted to shoes and once bought a very expensive pair for a friend. The feedback i got was that i could afford to do it because i was not paying school fees. Even the people who knew my story and my sweat sat down and made up stories about me that seemed so true. Thanks to them i made some tough choices and started my career all over again. I have and still make very tough choices and sacrifices for work, school, my home and friends. I am a survivor and i dont pray for an easy life, I pray for the strength to endure a difficult one. I am Gifty Bingley and i believe in hard work, yes I am a survivor. #mythoughtsonalazyafternoon
