Today my thoughts go out to the community of Ferguson and other communities plagued by violence and division. While I believe that most cops are good people with good intentions, the violence on our streets is perpetuated by the systematic impunity by which our now militarized police seem to threaten, arrest, injure and kill our citizens. I do not condone the burning of businesses, but the police would be wise to actually treat those individual perpetrators as criminals and protect the protesters right to assemble. There is no such thing as the often megaphoned unlawful assembly. This video seems like a timely piece given the results of yesterdays grand jury decision.
