Today my youngest Chachaji died: He was the youngest of seven - TopicsExpress

Today my youngest Chachaji died: He was the youngest of seven brothers, and yet never lacked in wisdom. He had perhaps the fewest degrees of any of his brothers, and yet was considered perhaps the smartest among them. He was never blessed with a son, and yet he raised three wonderful, intelligent, beautiful, and independent daughters. He fought only a short battle with Death, and yet never called it Master. He died young, and yet led a full life. Perhaps, to the sensibilities of some, those last words are not quite true. And yet, chachaji, through the simple act of living his life, taught me that much that glimmers is merely Fools Gold, and much that lacks that artificial luster is indeed the real McCoy, obscured by only the thinnest of layers of rust. In the end, chachaji taught me - taught us all - that life is too fleeting to live it by somebody elses rules or measure its successes by somebody elses yardstick. He is gone now. And yet, he hasnt left us. Not really. Rest in Peace Surrinder Singh Prihar. You were a Singh in life, and death can strip a lion of neither his regality nor his Pride. You are with us. Always.
