Today of course my thoughts have been filled with Andrew. I remember that he was home most of that last day which was very unusual. Mostly he was either working or out with his friends. I remember being at church that morning and talking about one of Andrews friends who had been killed on railroad tracks just a few weeks before. Even though we had somewhat of a difficult Christmas that year I so clearly remember saying that no matter what at least my children were alive. It has always haunted me that in less than twelve hours Andrew was dead. Tonight I went and stood where Andrew was worked on by the fireman at the BP station on Fontaine. Even with a weak arm I could throw a ball and hit the new fire station that is now right next door. That kind of makes my stomach hurt. Then I stopped to get my mail on the way home. I put the stack on my kitchen table, looked down, and saw that the top letter is to Andrew. He now has 30 days to respond to an offer to protect his water pipes. Do you think he will make the deadline???
