Today, on November 22nd, 1979, this is Queens opening Night of their second Tour in 1979, called #CrazyTour. This is Queens one Night Concert in the irish metropolis Dublin. Presumed setlist: Let Me Entertain You, We Will Rock You (fast), Somebody To Love, If You Cant Beat Them, Mustapha, Death On Two Legs, Killer Queen, Im In Love With My Car, Get Down Make Love, Youre My Best Friend, Save Me, Now Im Here, Dont Stop Me Now, Love Of My Life, 39, Fat Bottomed Girls, Keep Yourself Alive, drum/guitar solos, Brighton Rock (ending), Bohemian Rhapsody, Tie Your Mother Down, Danny Boy, Crazy Little Thing Called Love, Sheer Heart Attack, We Will Rock You, We Are The Champions, A Day At The Races outro Tonight is the opening night of the Crazy Tour, the tour when Queen decided to go back and play the smaller, more intimate venues (especially the London ones). The lighting rig had to be scaled down to accommodate most of the venues. There used to be five rows of red and green lights and four rows of white, but the red and green have been cut back to four as well. Along with the change in the bands attire (particularly Freddies pants with knee-pads) and Rogers bass drum head sporting a picture of himself, all these factors make pictures from this tour easy to distinguish from those taken earlier in the year. The show now begins with an intense drone leading into the thunder and lightning. Combined with their lighting rig (even the scaled down version), this would be a very effective opening of their show. It has been said that people were often left breathless before the band even played a note. Tonight would see the first performances of Save Me and Crazy Little Thing Called Love, which had been recently recorded. The latter has been released as a single and would fare quite well on the charts. Save Me would be released as a single early next year. On stage, Brian May plays the piano on the ballad. Through 1981, hed play the first two verses on piano and switch to guitar at the second chorus. The instrumentation would change slightly in 1982 with the addition of keyboardist Morgan Fisher. (Y)
