Today, on Women’s Equality Day, we commemorate the anniversary of the 19th Amendment and celebrate the right of women to vote. From the Seneca Falls Convention here in Central New York to the passage of the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act, our nation has made important progress toward the goal of equal rights for women. However, there is still much work to be done to promote gender equality, and I will continue to fight for equal rights and economic opportunities for women in Central New York and across the country.
