Today, on the whole, was a very good day for me. One or two definitive actions have certainly marred my current mood, but Im going to deliver a constructive message as a result instead of becoming angry. Hooray personal growth! Open and honest communication is important. Part of what made this day really great is that I knew what I wanted to get out of my experience, communicated that goal to people who could help me, and those people were amazing and came through. It helped me to be better as a result. By that same token, if you have feedback for someone or things are not being communicated that can help either you or someone else, then you are doing a disservice to both that person and yourself by not doing everything you can to improve yourself or to help someone else improve. If you dont speak up, then all that happens is that people suffer. If you dont know what you need to succeed, see if someone can help you. If you see ways that other people can do better, tell them. Its often said that the Magic Judges program is a cult of self-improvement, and its true. What I want to see, going forward, is not only for us to be working on improving ourselves, but everyone around us. It starts by not being afraid to tell someone what youre thinking. That person will be better because they know your thoughts. We arent a cult of self-improvement. Were a family that deserves to nurture everyone who wishes to be welcome. Be excellent to each other.
