Today seven of us went to lunch together. We ordered 7 dishes (thats the way you usually do it here; there are lazy susans in the middle of the tables and everyone shares everything. I know SOME of you would hate it!). We had a whole fish in a sweet and sour sauce, the classic fish fragrant eggplant, gang bao chicken (with leeks and peanuts), some spinach (they were out of rape greens), an amazing pork dish with potatoes and scallions, my favorite cauliflower dish, some Sichuan fries (very good, no salt or condiments), and mapo dofu. It cost 140 kuai ($3.25 each, one of the most expensive lunches Ive had here). On the walk home afterwards, I saw two Rolls Royces (one driven by a BOY), a Lamborghini, and a Maserati. 1%? More like .0000001%!
