Today, someone asked me if I have done something nice for someone this week and that question baffled me. In fact, this is not the first time someone has brought this question up to me but the difference is that this time when I had to think a little more about that question, I finally realised why I couldnt answer it. Firstly, I dont keep count when I do nice things for people. I counsel parents, I do a lot of work with young children, Ive provided a listening ear for quite a few friends.....but Ive never really took note of these things as being nice. To me, it has always been part of just being a person.....a considerate, kind and responsible person. So I dont really keep count of it. Secondly, when I look at people whom Im thankful for, its usually not because they have done something extremely special for me. Rather, its often the simple things they do like just being there when i needed them most, when they give me timely advice (which, in the past, didnt make much sense at all), when they tell me off and that kicked some sense into me or when they offered help when I needed it most. Most of the time, these significant people in my life, like me, dont realise that they have helped me in some way or another. I bet they are just being a person....a considerate, kind and responsible person:)
