Today the Camden Kroc Center was officially declared open by Center Administrator & Tri-County Coordinator Major Paul Cain. It was a beautiful morning to celebrate the event with representatives from K&A, local press, and both state and local dignitaries including: Camden Mayor, Dana Redd, NJ Department of Environmental Protection Commissioner Bob Martin, State Senator Donald Norcross, and Assemblyman Angel Fuentes. The 120,000 s.f. Center will provide recreational, health, educational, cultural, family and spiritual programming for area residents. It will also be the hub for Salvation Army Citadel services in the tri-county region and will serve as many as 360,000 visitors per year and create approximately 160 jobs. The Center is located at 1865 Harrison Avenue in the Cramer Hill section of the city. The dedicated weekend schedule of events kicks off this Saturday at the 7th Annual Kroctoberfest. From 10:00am - 2:00pm, there will be free games, music, membership sign ups, and family fun for all. The official ribbon cutting is at 6:30pm followed by a community celebration/reception at 7:00pm. Hope to see you all there!
