Today, the Chicago Tribune ran article putting Arkham as one of the 9 bands in Chicago to watch. This is a huge honor, the article is extremely complimentary, but it brings to the forefront something that has made me uncomfortable which seems to be the hyper focus on me. While some of this is expected, being the frontman, I want to make something absolutely clear: Arkham is, has, and will always be a collaborative effort. There are 4 other members, without whom I would be lost, artistically and personally. Charlie McKeown has now written 3 EPs and a handful of singles with this band, and each time continues to leave me in awe of his ability to combine melody, riff, and aggression. Andrew Smith had a huge part in shaping this new record sonically, ultimately creating a lot of the new dimensions you hear on the record. Matthew Meifert added a musical depth and layering of detail that left me speechless the first time I heard it recorded, and to this day impresses me. Jack Mazurek is instrumental in the review of my lyrics, keeping me honest more times than Id probably care to admit. I have been extremely fortunate to be able to surround myself with the best musicians, and people, Without them I would be lost, and this band would be nothing and they deserve every bit as much recognition and praise for their work.
