Today, the Department of Veterans Affairs announced the publication of final regulations that will implement the “Honoring Americas Veterans and Caring for Camp Lejeune Families Act of 2012.” This law will provide care for both Camp Lejeune veterans and family members who were affected by the toxic contamination at the base between the 1950s and 1980s. I am proud of the progress that has been announced today and I fully expect VA will now move swiftly to implement all the regulations and extend a helping hand to the victims of this tragic episode in our nation’s history.
