Today, the first birthday card for my Mom, Kay, has arrived in the mail. Yippee! 75 more to go! For those that may have missed my first post...... my mom turns 76 years old on August 25th. She lives with my husband and I and has been under our care for the past 3 years as she suffers from many ailments including some memory loss. I am hoping to make this birthday special for her by giving her 76 birthday cards from all over the world. This is where you come in. I need your help. If you would like to be part of this celebration, please message me and I will send you our address for my mom, Kay Bateman. I am storing them until her birthday to present them all at once. A little background on my Mom.... she was raised in Crescent City, CA, among the redwoods. Her father was a fisherman on the Pacific, a mechanic, and a gold miner on the Smith River. Mom inherited talent as an artist from him. Along with my Dad, she raced motorcycles; enduro, flat track, motocross and hill climb. She was very competitive, right up there with the men! She lived by the motto, "If there is a will, there is a way" and instilled that in me, for which I am forever grateful. Mom is frustrated and depressed today as her body and mind no longer cooperate with her. I am hoping that 76 birthday cards will make her feel as special as she is! Thanks for your love.
