Today turned out to be interesting- and thank goodness I came home a bit early. Got home, let Kelsey out and while on our back porch I noticed a small puppy sitting on the adjacent porch of a vacant house next door. Just sitting there, staring at me. I run next door and notice the dog has obviously been hit by a car and hurt badly. Shaking cold and petrified. His name was Chaz and he had tags! So, I called both of the phone numbers. Both were disconnected. I call my vet for help. They advise me that I need to call Animal Control. I call, with little hope they will actually help Chaz. Luckily, they mustve had a slow day because a cop arrived 5 minutes later and the truck came 30 mins later. I tried giving him treats but he refused even the best treats in my cabinet! Animal Control now has him as of 5 minutes ago. I hope he can get a new home and fast. I have a suspicion that he has been wearing those rusty dog tags for a while, with no home. Please make sure the contact info on your dog is up-to-date! Also, keep an eye on Savannah Animal Control in the coming days for little Chaz. He is very sweet and needs a loving home.
