Today, two of my students left for Harvard Law School. I remember nudging them to aspire in that direction not too long ago. In that class, three students easily stood out. One of them now runs a successful civil society outfit and is famously known among her peers as the Obama gal. I continue to work with her closely, most times as my boss. The other two have gone on to chase their dream. Now, we may agree or disagree on whether the LLM at Harvard is overrated and whether it is just a brand. But one thing is for sure: it is worth celebrating. One of them stopped by my office to bid me farewell and reminded me that in a small way, I had contributed to inspiring them to aim that high. I was humbled. Gals, go chase your dreams. I will stay here and attempt yet again, to inspire two or three more students this coming semester. This is why some of us teach. I pray Gods blessing on these three gals whom I am sure, will change the world.
