First, I participated the Somali new deal stakeholder workshop where all regional states and the Somali federal Goverment as well as civil society started a 3 day dialogue on moving Somalia towards peaceful and democratic governance by 2016 - by holding each other and the international donor nations accountable...essentially, Somali institutions must deliver for the people...this way great Then I ended my day at the Mogadishu 2014 conflict and security assessment report by the observatory of conflict and violency prevention (ocvp) and related policy brief by the heritage institute...basically, 92% of Mogadishu resident who were surveyed (about 1600 individuals, covering some 483 households) say the security situation in the city is better now than 2 years ago...and that they are hopeful for the future... So, lots of challenges in the country, but lots more to be hopeful!! My dear diapora folks, visit home - you will be better for it!
