Today was a busy day. Max is in town and he and Dave came up to spend the day with Jon David while I has big plans to go home and get stuff done for Christmas and the Ft. Root Veterans Drive, then go Christmas shopping, etc. Except that is not what I did. ........I went straight home, went to bed and slept for 3 hours. I was totally dead. Good Sleep at the hospital is just not possible Ive decided. I was so glad to be home, that I just stayed. I did normal things today that in our adnormal life is just not possible. Made chex mix, wrapped some gifts, decorated a small tree for Jon Davids room and another for my best friends mom who is on the hospital........and it was so nice just being home. Jon David is totally bored and ready to get out of the hospital. I dont know how he does it. Hes so strong in ways that I am weak....... He continues to run a temperature and I continue to not understand what is going on. Im just not getting it. How can you be on three antibiotics for 6 days and still have a temp. But well give it till Monday see what the new X-ray shows and go from there. Meanwhile people are working hard to gather gifts for the Veterans. I had stuff on my front porch waiting, other stuff left in my garage, many people are gathering items in their neighborhood and we will be rounding up those things up first of the week. Cheryl with JA Riggs, brought boxes and boxes of socks, knit caps and warm ups donated by her company and their employees. Cheryl has helped with this project from the beginning. She one of those rare people I felt a connection with immediately, but you make the mistake of not taking time to explore, until you dont have that time to explore and you wish you had.........she is a treasure and I grateful for her friendship. Tom and Jannie Maxwell delivered the over 70 scarfs she and her friends collected for the VA! What a great job. These will be used by the cancer patients and homeless that cant ever seem to get warm. Westrock Coffee, who continues to be a great community partner has once again donated many cases of coffee for the Veterans use, and there are many other local businesses that I will be posting about soon. You are all SO APPRECIATED! So tomorrow Max goes back to Texarkana and work. I love seeing his sweet face and having him in our house! I know Jon David has enjoyed getting to spend time with him and I appreciate the fact that he gave up his weekend to come spend time with us! We have 11 days till Christmas.......I didnt realize that till I just looked at the calendar......wow. Its just not gonna get done. So tonight I get to sleep in my bed and tomorrow morning Ill switch out with Dave and we will start another day..... Sweet dreams Love, Jacki
