Today was a day of reflection on the past week away in Luxembourg - TopicsExpress

Today was a day of reflection on the past week away in Luxembourg at the FCI world Championship. These events can always bring great highs and lows and this year was no exception. Having been on several European and World Teams I realise that having been picked to represent our country puts us up for people to speculate on what is happening, both positive and negative and this year was no different. Right from the start we suffered disappointment with two teams members being measured out and this effected all the team greatly. However we are a strong resilient bunch and by supporting each other we came through it well. Our large team consisted of two debut dogs and handlers at the FCI. We set a strong plan and had a great team strategy which resulted after the 2 days of competition in the team getting a bronze medal in the agility round and a silver overall. A massive achievement for us all. A huge well done and thank you to my team mates Greg Derrett, Charlotte Harding and Jess Clarehugh, Thanks need to be given to Mark Laker and Marc Saunders for a brilliantly organised lead up to the event with all the squad and organised team days. Thanks to Lee Gibson for being my groom, driving the dogs back and forth to the hotel and is much appreciated. A personal thanks to my sponsors, Genesis Pet Food and Stuart Mcgregor for all the support and help they have given me on the lead up to FCI and during the rehab of Ruby the past year.I couldnt have done it without them, a big shout out must also go to all the traveling supporters, your attendance is much appreciated and its a very proud moment to perform on a world stage with people cheering and supporting you in the flesh.A final thanks must go to Ruby, being able to step up to the start line and have that moment where you look directly into each others eyes, is one that only people that have competed at events like this and under the huge amounts of pressure will know, the feeling of complete trust and dedication to each other, but words cant explain it well enough. Thanks to everyone for your kind words and messages, they really do mean a lot.
