Today was a tuff day. Its been kind of a tuff fall for me.. But I lost a wonderful horse today, - Silky - aka BH Sierra Bullet. I know everyone wants to know details. Ill try to keep it brief. I found him dead this morning of unknown causes and unexpected. I did have the vet out for a neocropsy (sp?) and it is believed he died from a deep internal abscess in the gutteral pouch region. Something he would of been harboring for some time. However, I cant stress enough, there were NO signs. He was acting like himself, with no cough, no nasal drainage, healthy, full appetite, full energy level. So the occurrence was completely sudden and I was totally caught off guard. On Christmas Day, while visiting the horses and talking on the phone with my mom, he was reaching his nose out and I was kissing it, like 100 times, and my mom said who are you kissing? and I said Silky, he loves them! I would like to hold onto that memory if I could. He was always an affectionate horse. And a tremendous athlete as well. Running a 112si on the track. Own son of DTF.. Full brother to Flo... Very special horse... his personality was a bonus.
