Today was another good day at Shepherds! Ate lunch all on his own with some help from a small arm sling. Stood up again today but this time with only the help from a therapist, no hoist or assistive machine! He continues to make progress and get more movement in his left side limbs. For instance today his left hand fingers are moving more frequent and bicep is getting stronger. Still no movement in thumb, pinky, ring finger and tricep but we have faith it will come with time!!! Here at shepherds not only do they work your butt off with therapies they also make sure your educated on your injury! so today he had many classes, one of which was where he and other patients shared with one another their story, feelings, advice and just really got to know each other. I was able to stay in the room and hear everyones personal story. Spinal cord injuries can happen to ANYONE at ANYTIME! Each individual had a unique story and unique injuries. This type of group therapy is just as rewarding as the physical therapies because they get to relate to one another, give advice and encourage one another. Steve and Tammy came back today and Tony was happy to see them. He is blessed to have great parents who are faithful. God works through faithful parents who, in spite of dark and difficult days, walk obediently to him- Elizabeth George. On a side note, I have a reminder for everyone in okeechobee area. The somethin for nothin bow/trash fishing tournament is this saturday. They will be cooking so come hungry! even if you dont plan on fishing come by and have dinner with us! there will also be raffle tickets for a .308 browning x bolt riffle, leather work and a silent auction! that starts at 5 and fishing starts at 7.visit the event page for more info Somethin for Nothin bow/trash fish tournament. Its gonna be a good time! Thankyou Jacob Mayfield for making that happen.
