Today was (free) Museum Day Live, sponsored by the Smithsonian Magazine. I went to the Burke Museum in Seattle. At this museum they have the mastodon tusk that was recently found in Seattle. They also have been helping with the study of Kennewick Man. There were some great exhibits of Native arts & artifacts, dinosaur bones, & other ancient creatures bones, too. Below are pictures of a Hawaiian Hula Drum, & a Japanese Taiko Drum. Traditionally, the Taiko is made from the Sake casks. I enjoyed the exhibits & had a great day.
