Today was measurement day for the 8wk challenge at CrossFit 314. I am not exactly sure what my weight was when we started it, will need to check that, but i measured in at 384.4lbs today and all of my measurements (except my calfs) are shrinking....which is awesome and more fire to continue on the clean eating course (it really isnt as hard as people think.....but it does cost a bit more). I havent been posting as many photos of the food, because I dont want to clog peoples news feed -- but i will when it is something really really good (like the paleo seaseme chicken). So today i experienced heavy weights. Not really sure what was up, but everything felt heavier today. It was weird. I was covered in sweat during the strength portion of the workout, and we didnt jump up that much in weight...but something was just off. I struggled to finish a full set of the bench presses today; which left me just staring at the bench the rest of the afternoon......even after the WOD. It was the first time I needed a spot from Neil Jones, and it was humbling and also the reason i want to go back for more....because i know i can get my reps at that weight. Todays workout was pretty cool. I didnt remember it at first, but once i was done, Neil reminded me that i had done this workout once before on 12/19/2013 (although for some reason, my phone doesnt have that whiteboard photo....) and my time was 19:08 and i had to ditch the push-ups during the burpees more than halfway through. Today though....today was a new day....and with that, here is how it shook out: ========== Stretching (5 minutes) *General Stretching Crossfit Warmups 3 Sets of: *10 Ring Pulls *10 Box Dips *10 Air Squats (no box!!!!) *10 Hip Extensions *10 Situps (with abmat) Strength Training: 2 Sets of Circuit: *Deadlift (235lbs x 5 times)(off of 2pcs 45lb plates) *Bench Press (155lbs x 5 times) 3 Sets of Circuit: *Deadlift (235lbs x 5 times)(off of 2pcs 45lb plates) *Bench Press (155lbs x 4 times) Workout of Day: *500 Meter Row (I think this was at 1:59, but not sure....i was keeping a steady pace) *10 Burpees (scaled with box) *10 Flutter Kicks *9 Burpees (scaled with box) *10 Flutter Kicks *8 Burpees (scaled with box) *10 Flutter Kicks *7 Burpees (scaled with box) *10 Flutter Kicks *6 Burpees (scaled with box) *10 Flutter Kicks *5 Burpees (scaled with box) *10 Flutter Kicks *4 Burpees (scaled with box) *10 Flutter Kicks *3 Burpees (scaled with box) *10 Flutter Kicks *2 Burpees (scaled with box) *10 Flutter Kicks *1 Burpees (scaled with box) *10 Flutter Kicks *500 Meter Row (1:52 and I was watching my strokes per minute....but it was close to all i had) Total time was ..........17:08!!!!!!!!!! (shaved 2 minutes off of my time, with a harder workout!) Cool Down Stretching (5 minutes) *Sitting on rower staring at bench and plates......... ========== So today was a good day indeed....even though it owned me and took me the entire drive home to feel whole again.....but i finished and I am stronger and better for it. And I am already looking forward to the next one.
