Today was not a normal Thanksgiving for us. Carly Grace and I were recovering from the flu and we had to cancel our plans to have my family over. Everyone gathered at Chris & Lisas instead, except for Gracie and me. She came in my bedroom this morning trying to convince me that she was well enough to go (as her poor little eyes and nose ran), and she looked so pitiful. She was so upset and said there was nothing to be thankful for today. We talked about how many things we should be thankful for each and every day. She eventually agreed and was satisfied with a lazy day at home. Our conversation made me think about my own words to her, and how very much we have in our lives to be thankful for. Gods mercy, grace and forgiveness through His Son most of all. There is nothing we have ever done, or can ever do, to deserve His love. We all make so many mistakes daily, yet He loves us and desires a relationship with us. There is so much comfort in knowing that there is equally nothing that can separate us from Gods love. He knows our sins, our hearts, and our thoughts that contradict His will...yet He will never stop loving us. His love is perfect, and although very costly (the death of His Son to be exact), His love is freely given to anyone that believes and receives it! Im so thankful for this amazing grace!
