Today was such a blessing to my boys. Both have big achievements and God has acknowledged them both. Khyri was given an award for Outstanding Educational and Personal Growth from Youth Alive. He was honored this award personally from his mentor Michael Lewis. Then for Ahmari Harris was selected out of hundreds to participate in the 2014-2015 African American Male Achievement Student Leadership Council. He will be given an opportunity to travel around the bay area and other places to show what it means to be an African American Male in Oakland and the nation. Alll this in one day is so much to take in. Im so emotional right now and so proud of my boys. This just certifies to me that with hard work, dedication, being humble and grounded will be rewarded. As a single parent, making no excuses and letting God guide me in raising two young black men in this society; shows that anything is possible. Like the song goes, dont complain. God will make a way from no way. So to my FB family, please help me give a shout out to my young men. Im a proud mommy!
