Today we celebrate our Digital Projectors 1st Birthday! Scary Movie V and Oblivion were the first ever digital movies screened here on the Chinchilla Show Friday Holiday 2013. Who remembers coming to experience the incredible new digital sound and crisp new image?! And who is enjoying the incredible lineup of movies we have been fortunate enough to screen since joining the digital age?! The closure of the very last film plant in the last month has sadly closed the doors on the future of the 35mm film industry. I still miss the hands-on nature of 35mm but digital has certainly provided many opportunities for our small Country Cinema. Thank you Western Downs Regional Council for providing this incredible facility to our community at a time when many other rural areas are experiencing the closure of their Cinemas due to the inability to source films and the often prohibitive cost of converting to digital. How lucky we are!! See you all soon at the Movies!
