Today we had a clinic appt to try to figure out how extensively the tumours & laser/cryotherapy treatments have affected Mylahs sight. Her right eyesight is perfect! And considering how much strain & stress her eyes have been through, that is just so amazing!! Her left eye however, has lost some sight. Its very hard to tell how much exactly, as Mylah is obviously too little to articulate it to us. Her ophthalmologists are now planning to try patching. This means her good eye will be covered, in an attempt to train her brain to continue to utilise the vision remaining in her left eye. If her brain gets lazy & thinks the eye isnt working, it will stop using the eye completely. Which then means Mylahs eye may turn which would then mean corrective surgeries along the track & her left eyesight will be lost. BUT so far, she is a star!! & with good plans ahead, her sight should be mostly saved!!!☺️
