Today we had a phone call from a neighboring rescue organisation, asking us if we could deal with a rescue in the middle of our patch, after the caller claimed WRAS was not able to attend. We had not had a call from this person and when we phoned him and questioned whether he had spoken to us he confirmed he hadnt spoken to WRAS at all and that he had got their number off the internet. Luckily our friends at this neighbouring organisation contacted us to find out the facts first. It just goes to show that people in other rescue organisations really shouldnt jump to conclusions about what other rescue organisation are or are not doing based on what members of the public say, without finding out the facts first. Its sad that some people in rescue organisation take as gospel what member of the public say about other organisations. I have been guilty of doing this myself when younger, but have learnt my lesson, and respect my neighboring organisations.
