Today we have happy and sad news. Old Man Max, who we pulled from a shelter on OCtober 14th, is making the trip across the rainbow bridge today. He came to us with numerous medical issues from years of neglect and although we had hoped for the best, he took a turn for the worse Sunday. We know that it isnt fair to prolong his suffering, so after consulting with our vet, we have made the tough decision to let him go peacefully. However, Old Man Max will NOT go to the bridge without a family. His fosters decided last night to adopt him so that he will leave this world being part of a family. This part of rescue is heartbreaking. When we pulled Max, we knew he was an older soul who would need some TLC, and that is exactly what he has gotten. He has smiled more in these last few weeks than we think he has in a lifetime. We are heartbroken that it took him this long to know love and family, but we are happy that we could do this for him. So, if you could spare a few thoughts for Max and his FUREVER family, we would appreciate it. And hug your furbabies today. Life is short and precious. Make every second count.
