Today we noted construction on the site where the mega billboard post is located. We intervened with the police and the construction was stopped by Sgt. Rios. Our suspicions of using a legitimate permit to finish erecting the billboard is coming to a realization as the contractor (would not give name) and the Avis owner/manager (Mr. Ortiz) were caught at odds with each other when asked who gave the job order. Mr. Ortiz said he and his business has nothing to do with the contractors before him. The contractor said he was there for the Avis Car Rental construction. We suspected this might happen therefore we had already put a “querella” which is attached to this email on September 4th with the municipality of San Juan were a construction permit was issued to Avis. We believe the Avis permit should also me put on hold until the billboard issue is put to rest completely. There will be a hearing on Tuesday September 24th at the San Juan Court Building in Hato Rey in sala #907, Case # SJ,K PE 2013-4566. If possible please send a representative or be present to boost support for the cause.
