Today we read a book called From Wheat to Bread at our first read aloud and did related activities all day. While we read the book, we looked at a bag of wheat kernels (actually spelt kernels due to an allergy, but they are nearly identical!) Then, at morning meeting, we sang This is the Way We Make The Bread, with actions for all the steps. Then we looked at pictures of wheat fields and talked about what we saw, and used our noticings to make wheat paintings with forks. After that, we baked bread and ate it at lunch! Sorry for all the pictures, we just couldnt narrow it down today!
