The water is gone; the rivers are parched. Where there is no water, people perish. This is the revelation that God gives Jeremiah concerning Judah. Disaster comes by God’s hand and is presented as prophecy. God gives Jeremiah so that he can share with the people. Jeremiah 14 is a serious script highlighting the problem in the land of Judah.
