Today we took the metro, then a train, then the aerial car up to the gorgeous setting for Montserrat Monastery atop the mountain. When we arrived we literally felt like empowered chicks conquering a foreign land with our maps. Once there we saw a line forming to go into the basilica - we thought to take photos - and so we stood almost 2 hours because my girl said it could be spectacular. Once inside we realized this was a line to pray before a statue of Mary- not being Catholic, well we felt out of our comfort zone but went with it anyway. To be honest Id rather not have stood that long for something that isnt part of my life, but it was inspiring to see others dedicated to their beliefs...said with a sense of humor :)
