Today we went to Paws in the Park, taking Mabel and Brontë with us. Mabel was too young to be entered into any of the classes and after our first visit to ring craft we werent sure if Brontë would cope, she was quite intimidated by the big dogs and walked like a crab! They were both very well behaved, happy with the thousands of other dogs and Brontë was quite confident in the ring. We entered the class for Best Condition dog and Brontë won first place against 40-45 other dogs. She was also entered into the Any Variety Hound class where she came fifth. The judge for the condition class was surprised when I told her afterwards it was Brontës first ever show so the practicing in the garden over the last week must have paid off. We have a lot to learn but we had fun and it was a lovely start to showing.
