Today we will see who will wield the mantle of leadership in one political party as it heads into an internal election. Those people will make their choices amidst much mental pyrotechnics and verbal batons. Their choices will show the rest of us the difference between an ostrich and a beacon. Which will it be? Will the machinations to secure votes for a maximum leader propel Guyana backwards into a repeat of the years when Guyana slid into the morass or will the past leaders accept their past tense and build a new breed, build a new age and create a new Guyana as was the vision of its founders? We will soon know. I will pray. Please pray with me.
