Today we would like to show you Otto B. Otto B. is a M/N, - TopicsExpress

Today we would like to show you Otto B. Otto B. is a M/N, 2.5 year old Weimaraner/Lab/Dane x The things we love about Otto: He is energetic and playful. He loves attention, and has what we like to call Chronic happy butt syndrome :-) (When dogs are so happy to see you they wag their whole back end, not just their tail) Hes very people oriented and is MORE then ready for his forever home. Hes very smart, and trainable. He knows how to sit on command very well. Poor Otto has a long, sad history with us and this sweet boy deserves a new home for Christmas! If you would like to hear his whole story please continue reading.... Otto originally came in to us as a stray and turned out to be heartworm positive. He spent the duration of his treatment here at the shelter, and upon completion, was placed up for adoption. Some time passed, and he was finally adopted by a trucker to be his companion on the road. Regardless of our adoption policy that if for ANY reason it doesnt work out with someones newly adopted pet, they should be brought back to our care, his adopter ended up giving Otto to a mechanic. That man then ended up dumping him at a high kill rate shelter down in Georgia who called us to let us know they had no room for him, and if we werent able to come get him, they would put him to sleep. Thankfully, we were able to arrange a transport in time to get him back safe and sound here to us at HSSWMO and he is now up for adoption for the second time. With going through being a stray, a long stay at the shelter for medical treatment, another long wait for a adopter, going to a new home, then being given to a different home, THEN being dumped at a different shelter, AND THEN coming back to the first one.... Otto has been through SO MUCH. This kind of stressful history means it will probably take a good amount of time and patience before Otto will be able to feel settled and comfortable in a new and (fingers crossed), FINAL forever home. A last something to be aware of about Otto is he is very good at climbing fences. Whoever adopts him would either need a privacy fence or be willing to go outside with him to make sure he doesnt get loose. Even though he will require a little training, extra patience, and extra love we know that he would be well worth it, and at the end of the day someone out there will have a very lovely, grateful companion in Otto B. Come see us. :-)
