The following information about the activities comes from the Camps website: Horsemanship-Amateur: Amateur riders have no or limited equestrian experience. This is their FIRST time signing up for the equestrian program. Horsemanship-Advanced: To sign up for this level campers must have participated in the Equestrian program last summer. This level is not an ‘official’ level of the EMW program. Since we are solidifying the program this summer we are adding this level for those who were in the Equestrian program last summer, and are close to having the ability to be in the Trail Hand class. This class is also for when all Trail Hand slots are full. Nature: Let our experienced wilderness staff teach you about the natural world and how to live in harmony with the environment by using ‘leave no trace’ techniques. Learn skills for camping, hiking, & orienteering, and how to select and prepare edible wild plants. Do you know the difference between a nuthatch and a warbler? Have you ever wondered how to tell the difference between short and tall animals, or a feline or canine by their tracks? Sign up to learn the secrets of the outdoors with our experienced naturalists! Experience the magnificence of the night-sky! View God’s awesome celestial panorama with our camp staff who are knowledgeable in astronomy. Do you know the tell-tale signs of an approaching storm? Or how to forecast the weather? Sign-Up for Nature Sailing: Chart your course and navigate your way under sail! Let our experienced instructors show you how to harness the wind and maneuver your boat through the waters of Lake Winnekeag! PFD’s provided as well as staff lifeguards. Small Boats: Explore Winnekeag’s shoreline up close! Have fun using the Paddle Boats, Canoes, Hydro-BIkes & FunYaks on Lake Winnekeag! Swimming (Recreational): One of Camp Winnekeag’s main attractions is its waterfront! Swim with your friends or just hang out & relax on the sand or the swim docks. Swimming Lessons: Learn to swim like a fish! Let our Red Cross certified instructors teach you! Sports: This class is an introductory to a variety of popular sports. Learn to play Basketball, Volleyball, Softball and Soccer and Flag Football! Have fun while improving your teamwork skills! Wakeboard/Waterski: One of Camp Winnekeag’s hottest watersports!
