Today while I was nipping down to my local Tesco-like supermarket for some bits and bobs, the attractive till operator that rang up my purchases immediately engaged me in conversation asking me how I was and if Id had trouble finding any items and what form of payment would I be using. Since Im unaccustomed to this type of attention, I was really enjoying the conversation up until she wished me a good day, seemingly content with the very short length of our chat. Not wanting to press my luck, I grabbed my things and left but couldnt help but wonder if I should have tried harder to keep the conversation going. I didnt even get to tell her that this is my favorite place to get bits and bobs.
